In order to get Crysis to look as nice as that on your PC as well, just follow these step-by-step instructions:ġ) Install Crysis (the location/directory does not matter).Ģ) Download the installer for Real Lifesis, here.ģ) Start the installer by double-clicking it.Ĥ) Click on "Accept" and then "browse", in order to select the folder in which you installed Crysis. ToD stands for "Time of Day" and by using a custom one, Real Lifesis basically alters the whole atmospheric lighting to make Crysis look much more realistic. Therefore, Hawkeye|Puppy had set himself this main goal: "I have set the task of creating a Full-Day Time of Day file, that brings Crysis as close to photorealism that you can get." Have a look and decide for yourself, whether he was able to succeed or not:

What's so special about this, you ask? Well, this is not your standard configuration file that tweaks a few settings (although there comes one included with this mod, too), but it is a so-called "ToD modification". Today, I am presenting you one of these mods, called: Real Lifesis, developed by Hawkeye|Puppy over at Crytek's official modding portal, Crymod. Besides that or maybe because of that, there exists a very active modding community for it, creating configuration files to squeeze additional fps out of it, building custom maps, or other mods to change the look and feel of the game. Today, it is still a very popular game, partially because of its expansion Crysis Warhead, and more than likely since hardware is finally catching up to the insane amounts of polygons this game is able to draw on your screen, too. Both have increased damage and 0 damage drop distance.About one and a half years ago, Crytek shocked the PC gaming world with its first-person shooter Crysis - not only with its beautiful and impressive graphics, but also with hardware requirements which were both out of this world. The FY71 has a new polished metal skin, really shiny. Check it out here, I uploaded it for you to try. 1 -2 hits to kill KPA even from really really far away.

My weapon mod is new skins for each gun and more damage. Now if I could just add a TOD mod to that mix. Rygel Hi Res Texture mod + Extreme Quality 1.34 + More Enemies Mod + Xtreme Chaos Particles Mod + My own weapons mod. Warning this sometimes drops my FPS to the teens when in big battles. Unfortunately you cannot use any TOD mods while using the More Enemies mod. But I would like to mix the More Enemies Mod with a nice TOD mod. I am not as experienced in using Sandbox editor for making mods. Have you ever seen the TOD mods from RealLifesis, or Blackfires, or Natural Mod? I like to mix and match them for specific levels. Obviously if they improve the performance you are missing out on one of the Graphics features. I don't want to see any mods that improve performance over the original Very High settings. Also all the View distances and shadow distances have been increased. Extreme Quality adds a tiny bit of HDR and SSAO Darkening so it looks real. Too much HDR looks like crap and looks fake. Notice how my Crysis Warhead ultra high end mod outperforms enthusiast settings. Here are some performance charts, comparing my high end and ultra high end mods to high settings and very high settings. My time of day mods are only for several levels in the first Crysis. These graphics mods are available for Crysis and Crysis Warhead. Most either disappointed me with performance or visuals, some did both. I made my mods after trying out a bunch of other ones. Here are some images of my high end graphics mod, my custom time of day settings, and 16xQ AA at 1920 x 1080.

This is a single player gameplay mod for the first Crysis. From my experience, they all increase performance. I also use my own time of day mods, which can be downloaded here. My high end graphics mod can be downloaded here (scroll down in the link). The original versions of these mods (1.0) was rated highly by Crytek. The others are all my low end graphics mod. The fourth image is my mid end graphics mod. I ran my low end graphics mod on an 8500GT for a long time, same performance as low settings, believe it or not. Here are my low end and mid end graphics mods. Is this a collection of mods? I have some too.
